Upon my arrival to KLIA from Singapore, I was directed to different stations, starting off with the covid-19 swab test. It really wasn't a pleasant feeling having something that long up your nostril. I gagged and started coughing involuntarily. After watching so many videos, I was expecting them to collect the samples from both my nostrils. But it was one mouth swab and only one nostril swab. Both were equally horrible.
The authorities did the headcount and after all the formalities, we were brought up the bus to then be transported to a designated quarantine center. We were not informed before hand on where the bus was going. It felt like I was being kidnapped by the government hahaha.
It was a real crazy experience. Throughout the entire journey, all I could think of was 'the chances of me getting the virus here is very high' hahaha. I may come back covid free but who knows where everyone else in this quarantine red zone is from.
I had to pay RM140 per day for 14 days for the quarantine hotel I stayed at. The swab test at the airport was also RM150. On the 13th day of our quarantine, we had to do another blood test for RM30. So, the total cost of coming home is RM2,140. In my opinion, it is definitely the cost I was willing to pay to see my family again.
The quarantine could get very lonely and depressing, especially if you are used to being around people. So it is very important that you talk to your family, friends and loved ones. You could keep yourself occupied by watching movies. If you're not feeling well, you could always call the front desk and tell the front-liners.
The first few days of the 14 day quarantine for me was super gloomy and distressing. I am extremely grateful that I had work to do during the weekdays. I have no idea what else I can do if not for my job. I kept myself occupied by watching Modern Family literally every other moment I wasn't working, all 11 seasons.
To be honest, I'm just glad that 14 day is over for me and I get to be with people again. Anyway, my vlog was made for myself, for future me to rewatch. So, I really wasn't concerned what I had in it hahahaa.
Happy Malaysia Day!
Signing out
